SURAKSHA DESTINATION MIGRANTS TARGET INTERVENTION PROJECT

PSSS Suraksha Migrant Project Pathanamthitta


PSSS Suraksha Destination Migrants Target Intervention Project, Pathanamthitta was started on 1st October 2014 and completed 31st March 2022. It was supported by Kerala State Aids Control Society (KSACS), Govt of Kerala. This programme was implemented in Pathanamthitta District.
The major achievements of our project during the last year includes: the registration of 6328 high risk migrants from the population of 42000 migrants through 3560 group sessions and 165 successful medical camps. Out of the total registration 367 were registered out of medical camps, 2689 were registered through counseling and 3270 were registered through DIC. 3095 migrants were screened for HIV. The project had identified STIs of 157 and had given counseling services to 4146 high risk migrants.1173 of them had been screened for HIV at ICTC and1922 of them screened by CBS. The project had covered 807migrants through 24 AV Show (Mid Media Activities) and had successfully conducted 33 advocacy programmes during the reporting period at PRIs (Adoor, KonniThiruvalla, Kozhencherry and Pandalam), at the office of District Panchayath, DLO, NHM, Construction Work sites, Quarries, PHC District Legal services Authority (DLSA) Pathanamthitta, Social Justice Department and Kerala State Construction Workers Welfare Fund Board (KSCWWFB) and also at District Administrative level. One of the remarkable achievements through these advocacy meeting was that we had obtained an order from sub Collector to avoid entry level problems for the smooth implementation of the project.
